Privacy Notice

This privacy notice explains what Jackson County Inmate Population collects when visitors use the site, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. By using the site, visitors accept the data practices described here.

Information You Provide

Search Terms

When a visitor enters a name, location, or other term into a search tool, that query may be sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Jackson County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.

Messages

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, we use the information in that message to read it, respond, and handle the issue raised. We do not share contact messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement applies.

Technical Data Collected

Like most websites, this site may receive routine technical details each time a page loads.

  • IP address.
  • Browser type and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • Referring website, if one is present.
  • Date and time stamps.

Cookies

Cookies may be used to understand site use, improve performance, and support advertising or analytics. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, but some site features may work differently when cookies are disabled.

How Data Is Used

  • To keep pages available, stable, and reasonably fast.
  • To send search requests to the correct partner service.
  • To understand which Jackson County inmate and jail-record pages visitors use most.
  • To detect errors, broken links, and technical problems.
  • To display advertising that may be based on visitor interests.

Outside Websites

The site links to Jackson County jail resources, Oregon court and corrections portals, federal locators, ICE resources, VINE, and third-party search providers. Oregon public-records access and exemptions are mainly governed by ORS chapter 192, but after a visitor leaves this site, the privacy policy and terms of the destination site control that visit.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity or show interest-based ads across websites. Those tools operate under the partner's data practices, not under Jackson County government or this site's control.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell personal messages. Limited data may be available to the following parties when needed for site operation or legal compliance.

  • Search partners that process submitted queries.
  • Analytics providers that help measure traffic and performance.
  • Advertising networks that place or measure ads.
  • Law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other government bodies when required by a valid legal order.

Security Practices

We use reasonable security practices for a public information website, but no internet-connected service can be promised to be breach proof. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive details that are not needed for a specific question.

Visitors Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, a parent or guardian may ask that it be deleted.

Your Choices

  • Ask for a copy of personal data we hold, if any.
  • Ask that incorrect information be corrected.
  • Request deletion of personal information where deletion is available.
  • Opt out of certain processing where the law gives that right.

This privacy notice may be updated from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a revised effective date or visible update to the notice.
